(see harmonyfestival.com for times)
line-up subject to change

LEGBA'S LIGHT PRESENTS "The Spirit Of Miles Davis" featuring Mike Clark (drums), Airto Moreira (percussion), Mike Stern (guitar), Charnette Moffett (bass), Eddie Hendserson (trumpet), Azar Lawrence (sax), Brian Jackson (keys),  Kentyah Fraser (turntables), Killah Priest (rap / spoken word) and Missy Galore (visuals). This distinguished group of musicians comprised of Miles’ band alumni, jazz legends and contemporary musical luminaries will be collaborating in celebration of the creative spirit of the revolutionary trumpeter and composer Miles Davis. Taking musical cues from such classic albums as Bitches Brew, In A Silent Way, On the Corner, Pangea, Dark Magus--music that combined elements of funk, rock, and jazz fusion and avant-garde--to create a music style that remains way ahead of its time, the group will be performing original music, intermixed with new arrangements and contemporary re-interpretations of material from Miles' pioneering late 60's and early 70's electric-era work that sounds fresh and "kinda new", even today. Opening the Saturday show will be bassist Charnett Moffett and AOI. Both evenings will be recorded and filmed for a live album/DVD so come early and be a part of music history!
