31st ANNUAL HARMONY FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIPS
WITH FOUR CHARITIES SHARING ONE COLLECTIVE VISION:
GLOBAL & SUSTAINABLE PEACE, HEALTH AND ECO-AWARENESS
Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Santa Rosa, CA

May 18, 2009 (San Francisco North Bay, CA) — Celebrating 31 years of “Harmony From the Roots Up”—and continuing its focus on progressive ideals, community activism, and uplifting music—the producers of the Harmony Festival (http://www.harmonyfestival.com) are honored to announce the charitable organizations that will benefit from Harmony this year:

NEXTAID is an L.A.-based nonprofit organization committed to developing and implementing sustainable solutions to the challenges facing African children. NextAid’s mission is to promote community-driven environmentally, economically and socially empowering responses to the AIDS orphan pandemic.

NextAid receives support from a wide range of dance music industry leaders, such as Om Records, Dj Dan and URB Magazine. From mega-events like Miami’s annual Winter Music Conference to small clubs, NextAid channels the positive energy on the dance floor across the globe to children in Africa, providing an opportunity for this niche demographic to truly make a difference.

NextAid helped bring K’NAAN to the Harmony stages this year resulting in a generous donation made collectively by Harmony Festival and K’NAAN toward NextAid’s premier project, the building of a sustainable community center and children’s residential village in Dennilton, South Africa. www.nextaid.org
