SUNDAY NIGHT - HARMONY HALL 9PM-3AMThe Sacred Sunday Benefti Concert with Kitaro & The One World Orchestra with featuring Shimsahi, Tina Malia, Rocker T, Blane Lyon & Radio Devi. Plus a special encore performance by DJ Gaudi. The traditional Harmony Festival after party will close out with The Sacred Sunday Benefit Concert in Harmony Hall featuring a rare performance by Japanese world music pioneer Kitaro. One of the most honored Asian artists of all time, having sold millions of albums and selling out concert venues world-wide. Kitaro’s music is the epitome of the contemplative, highly melodic synthesizer music often associated with the new-age movement. He has been nominated for numerous Grammy Awards and won the Golden Globe for his soundtrack for Oliver Stone’s movie “Heaven & Earth”. Kitaro, a Sebastopol resident, will be performing with a full live band featuring renown violinist Steve Kindler and noted guitarist Joe Pesco. The One World The One World Orchestra was brought together by special request of the Harmony Staff in support of the spirit of our mission to celebrate the “Heart of Harmony”. The show will feature unique band sets and collaborations with some of our favorite and extremely talented local musicians. Shimshai blends traditional folklore songs of South America and Sanskrit mantras of India into a unique mix of reggae, jazz, kirtan, folk, and world beat; Tina Malia’s original lyrics and earthy rhythms are rooted in American folk and soul music; Singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, dancer and producer Blane Lyon’s voice expresses reverence to soulful uplifting music combining funk, soul, & reggae inspired grooves; Rocker-T was an integral part of the formation of the New York City ska and Hip Hop scenes and is a gifted multi-instrumentalist, whose unique singing and chanting style has become known worldwide as “sing-jay”. Radio Devi, featuring members of Hamsa Lila, will close out the show with their trance inducing brand of middle eastern based world fusion music. The uniquely progressive Sunday Sacred Show and After Party programming is the Harmony Festival’s way to honor and celebrate World Peace Day. It is being produced to honor HARMONY’S collective intention to make a statement in support of world peace and religious tolerance around the world. The show is a fundraiser for ACE Harmony’s non profit foundation and proceeds will go towards funding this year’s nominated charities Next Aid and The Women’s Earth Alliance, for their work with children and environmental and socio-economic challenges in Africa.
