Harmony Productions is once again proud to offer on-site camping at the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds during the 2008 Harmony Festival! We look forward to helping make your festival experience truly harmonious without having to leave the site at night and making your space home for up to four nights.
Following are the hours of operation and Camping Guidelines.
1. ENTRANCE & GATE HOURS
Entrance to the Camping Box Office is located on the left hand side of Brookwood Ave near Aston Ave; just follow the TO CAMPING signs off the highway. All vehicles must go through the Camping Box Office for ticketing and vehicle registration first and you will then be directed to the actual entrance to the campground portion of the Fairgrounds is at the south gate on Aston Ave.
Hours of Camping Gate Operation:
- Friday, June 6th from 10:00am to 10:00pm
- Saturday, June 7th from 7:00am to 10:00pm
- Sunday, June 8th from 7:00am to 10:00pm
Note: There will be NO INS AND OUTS from inside the interior camping gates. Should you choose to leave the site with your vehicle, you will need to re-park in the Overflow Camping Parking Lot off Aston Ave.
2. CAMPING TICKETS
To camp at the Harmony Festival, you must purchase all days of the Festival, or the all days/all nights weekend pass. You can purchase these tickets online, or we will also be selling camping with the all weekend passes at the gate, space provided. Vehicle fees will be collected at the gate, please see section 4 below.
In addition, if camping space is still available, we will be selling 2-day event and camping passes at the gate for those who may arrive on Saturday. No camping will be sold at the gate on Sunday.
3. ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS OR OTHER ANIMALS ALLOWED!
The only dogs allowed on site during the festival are qualified assistance animals as allowed under the ADA rules.
Please be sure to have all applicable paperwork and identification for your assistance animal so that our volunteers and staff are not put in a position of mis-understanding why your animal is on the grounds.
Unfortunately, some folks choose to bring their animal(s) to events regardless of the guidelines. Please note that the local Animal Control office may break your car window to liberate animals, as well as remove any animal left tied to a car, in a tent, or RV.
All dogs/animals found tied up either inside or outside of the Festival grounds will be immediately impounded by the local SPCA.
DOG/ANMIAL OWNERS WILL BE CITED IN ALL CASES AND ARE LIABLE FOR SAID CITATIONS.
In addition, dog/animal owners are LIABLE FOR ANY EXPENSES INCURRED by Harmony Festival, inc., its staff, board member, subcontractors, vendors, or volunteers for the removal of any dog/animal.
4. CAMPERS ARRIVAL
Upon arrival, ALL CAMPING PATRONS will enter the Camping Box Office Lot off Brookwood Ave. for ticketing and to pay the vehicle registration fee. From there you will be directed to the Aston Ave. camping gate entrance. There will be no in and outs for vehicles (if you need to leave during the festival) and you will need to re-park in the overflow parking lot across Aston Ave. On Sunday (or when you need to end your stay with us) you will be allowed to re-enter in order to gather your belongings.
Upon arrival, if traffic is backed up, please be patient and remain in your car.
All cars entering the interior campgrounds must pay for camping AND parking.
For returning campers, please note that there will be no free shuttle bus this year due to minimal usage last year. We are lowering our carbon footprint by not having a diesel bus running laps with only a small number of people using the service. Leave only footprints!
HINT: Bring your Radio Flyer wagons, luggage with wheels, carts or even baby strollers/joggers...anything with wheels to help move your camping gear load to the campsite you select.
Once again, there will an area for car and tent camping (next to your car) available on a first come-first served basis.
5. RV’s, LARGE RIGS, PERSONAL TRANSPORTATION VEHICLES AND SPECIAL NEEDS
Any vehicle over 18’ that will be slept in or serve as your home on wheels will be considered an RV. RV spaces may be purchased and reserved in the Horseman’s Lot/Quiet Camping area across Aston Ave, just west of the camping gate entrance. This year the RV's will be handled by the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds directly. You can download an application to reserve and purchase a space complete with full hook-ups.
We recommend purchasing your RV camping registration early to ensure you will have a space, as availability is limited. Please do not arrive in an RV or oversized vehicle without a reservation, as we will not be able to accommodate you.

6. FIRE, FIREWORKS, FORGET ABOUT IT!
No open flame, candles, fires or torches. The use of propane camp stoves and lanterns is permitted, but only in the open. Do not use in tents, buildings and barns or underneath overhangs, eves or roofs. Fireworks on this site are dangerous and strictly prohibited. The Santa Rosa Fire Department personnel will prosecute violators. Please observe and follow all no parking signage and marked fire lanes. Those vehicles or camping structures found in marked fire lanes are subject to removal or towing at the owners expense.
7. NO WEAPONS, NO NITROUS OXIDE, NO ILLEGAL DRUGS OR PARAPHERNALIA OF ANY SORT
These items will be confiscated and violators will be promptly removed from the venue without refund of tickets or camping fees.
Any citations or costs affiliated with these items are the sole responsibility of the offender.
8. SAFETY ISSUES
- Drink plenty of water!
- If you are going to consume alcohol, please do so wisely.
- Wear plenty of sunscreen.
- Carry and use a flashlight at night. Bring extra batteries.
- Please be NOT to leave any valuables in your camping area. For additional protection, consider deterring un-wanted entry by using a small combination lock (backpack size) on your tent.
- Camping can be very fun and communal. Watch out for your neighbors. If you notice someone who does not belong in a tent, exhibiting suspicious behavior, or notice a suspicious package, immediately notify onsite security, your camping host, or the Camping Coordinator.
- Harmony Festival, inc., its board members, staff, subcontracts, vendors, or volunteers are not responsible for any loss, stolen, or damaged property.
9. DRUM CIRCLES AND EXCESSIVE NOISE
While we are all here to have fun and a rousing good time, there’s a time and place for that…all day long and into the early night on the main meadow and late night venues!
Once we hit the magic hours between 10:00 pm through 9:00 am in the campgrounds...PLEASE…NO drumming, amplified music or loud late night/early morning story telling, you know the kind… that which draws the attention of your neighbors!
Shhhushhh is the word when it gets to being late and the crickets are chirping, people are snoring….please be kind to our sleeping neighbors. We would like to offer camping during the Festival year after year!
No generators after 10:00 pm and please, always be considerate of your neighbors when running these, regardless of the hour.
10. POTABLE WATER, RESTROOMS, AND SHOWERS
There is plenty of potable drinking water available throughout the festival grounds. Please be sure to refill your reusable water bottles and help us reduce our recycling impact by reducing the use of plastic water bottles.
There is a mix of permanent fairground restroom facilities (porcelain thrones) and the good old-fashioned festival staple, the Portable Toilet…which will be cleaned daily!
There are also hot showers on site which are open 24 hrs…please check your program guide or look for the signage. Hot water is limited, so plan accordingly and be kind to your neighbors by showering quickly!
11. WEATHER AND CONDITIONS
It’s early June in Santa Rosa, you can expect to experience warm to hot temperatures during the day and warm to mild temperatures at night.
Be advised that the winds can pick up and become gusty at times and all tents, tarps, sunshades or temporary canopies should be weighted and tied down.
Many of the flat camping spaces are on asphalt and the grass has sprinkler systems and therefore the use of tent stakes is prohibited in these areas.
Usually your camping gear loaded inside your tent or extra weight added by using gallon water bottles will suffice.
12. CAMP-SITE DESCRIPTIONS/GROUP CAMPING
There is a full range of camping sites available, which range from grassy areas to open space spots. Some of the open space spots are on level dirt, some are with shade and some without.
There are spaces with overhangs for shade and some with full roofs. The largest, flattest and covered with the most shade is the COW PALACE, which is located directly across from the main festival field. Availability will of course depend on when you get there!
It is quite possible that some of the prime camping areas will become what we call GIGGLE CAMPING…tent’s spaced close enough that you could probably hear your neighboring tent-mates giggling! We suggest that late arrival folks try to get their tent to early arriving friend(s) in order that they may hold tent space for you near them. There is to be no space saving of areas by using items such as caution tape, ropes, tarps or other devises to mark off large areas.
13. VENDING
Our Craft and Import Village will be available for your enjoyment, as well a diverse food court.
Please stop by and visit the folks who work hard to make a difference in our world with their unique cottage businesses.
NO UNAUTHORIZED VENDING - This will be strictly enforced.
14. MEDICAL AND SAFETY
Harmony Festival, inc. will have first aide personnel onsite operating 24 hours a day from Friday, June 6th at 10:00 am through Monday, June 9th at 12:00 Noon.
Please be sure to locate the First Aide booth via the onsite maps upon your arrival.
There will be roving security throughout the campground areas. However, PLEASE do not leave valuables in your tent. A small lock on your outer-door zipper will also help deter unwanted entry.
Should an issue arise (ex: camping space disputes) which requires immediate attention, please contact the Camping Office located adjacent to Otter Park, located on the Festival map.
15. DEPARTURE
Everyone will be required to leave by 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 9th. There are NO exceptions.
Please take some time to help clean the property and help us to LEAVE ONLY FOOTPRINTS. |
